Are The Torch Heads Flexible?

Yes! All of the heavy hitter torch heads are flexible.

Note:

Warm the torch head, BEFORE flexing to the desired angle, by welding for 2-3 Minutes. Then, bend the head smoothly and evenly against your thumb to spread the bend arc over the length of the neck. Repeated back-and-forth bending of any flex head torch will break it -- regardless of the manufacturer.

Does My Rig Need Periodic Maintenance?

Like any quality tool, your torch needs attention from time
to time.

  • Before use, inspect each argon connection for leaks.
  • Periodically, check the power cable and argon hose for cracks or tears.
  • Inspect the cable connector. Periodically, remove it by backing out the cover screw and sliding the connector cover back to reveal the brass connector. Remove the set screw and inspect the cable. If any arcing or fraying has occurred, freshen up the connection by trimming off any damage, and stripping back enough jacket to get a fresh new bite. Re-install the set screw and tighten, and replace the connector cover, and you're ready to go!

Which Torch Heads Have Valves And Which Ones Do Not?

The "V" in our part numbers indicate "Valve".. e.g. HH180V and HH350V.

Part numbers without a "V" indicate "No Valve".. e.g. HH180 and HH350.

What Type Of Consumables Do The Torch Heads Use?

Heavy Hitters torch heads are threaded for standard consumables and interchange with most major brands.. Our torch heads do not require the use of special or hard to find parts.

Will The Torch Head Fit The Power Cable I Am Currently Using?

Most likely, yes! Our torch heads adapt to power cables from most other major brands that use standard thread patterns. The HH9F and HH180(V) series will fit most 150 amp power cables. The HH350(V) series will fit most 200 and 250 amp power cables.

However, your torch head may not run as cool when it is used with power cables from other manufacturers. Only Heavy Hitters power cables will give you the full benefit of cool running torches.

How Many Amps Will The Power Cables Handle?

The 150 amp power cables can comfortably handle up to 200 amps on a daily basis. The 250 amp power cables can handle in excess of 300 amps.

How Does The Power Cable Hook Up? Do I Need Any Additional Parts?

The electrical side of the power cable connects directly to the female end of most welding leads using a male lenco style connector.

The argon side of the power cable connects directly to male standard argon lines via threaded female valved connection

Some welding machines may require the use of an additional adapter available at most welding supply stores
